Flat Tires and Thunderstorms

Last night, my partner Emily and I got a flat tire. Well, technically, I think we had been driving around yesterday with one, but we realized it last night. A screw was embedded into the tire, and we have to go get it plugged up this morning after our club. Our host family was kind enough to put the spare on for us last night.

It has been a while since I've written, and a lot
has happened. A lot of children have been learning about Jesus. I am one year older. El Paso thermometers saw 110 this week. But we did have thunderstorms the past two nights, and they were a welcome relief.

We are closing up our fourth week of clubs today. This week has been a fun one. Emily and I have two daycare clubs, which are usually large and entertaining. We also have another home club that has an average of 18 kids a day, and they are all attentive and eager to learn. We have six clubs total this week.

Our host family has three children, two older boys, and a girl who is five. Faith is a bundle of high-pitched energy but we have succeeded in getting her to play the "quiet game" for hours on end! :) Last night we had green chicken enchiladas, beans, rice, and peach cobbler for dessert... mmmmmhmm.

Well, I must get ready for clubs. I am feeling a little better, but I still have a cough. I am also working on a video to show at our end-of-the-program testi
monial. I will post it on here as soon as its done. I hope you are all well, friends!
